1. Who this policy covers

CompanySweeper operates the company-discovery and research service at companysweeper.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@companysweeper.com.

When paid purchases launch, our authorized payment provider will act as merchant of record and process payment and transaction information under its own privacy terms. CompanySweeper does not receive or store your full card or bank details.

2. Information we collect

Account and authentication

Email address, account and session identifiers, one-time-code delivery and verification records, eligibility state, and security or account-deletion records.

Research activity

Questions, selected companies, searches, results, investigations, watchlists, saved history, feedback, feature usage, credit activity, and source-document requests.

Technical and website activity

Random browser and session identifiers, page path, referrer, campaign parameters, country-level location, device category, timestamps, service logs, error records, rate-limit information, and security signals. The public site does not use advertising trackers or session-replay tools.

Transactions and support

When payments launch, we may receive customer and transaction identifiers, buyer email, purchased item, amount, currency, tax, payment status, refunds, disputes, and payment-notification records. We also collect information you send in support communications.

3. How we use information

• create and authenticate accounts;
• run searches, investigations, watchlists, history, credits, and account controls;
• process purchases, grant credits, prevent duplicate fulfillment, issue refunds, and reconcile disputes;
• operate, secure, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the service;
• respond to support, privacy, and legal requests; and
• comply with law and enforce the Terms of Service.

Depending on where you live, these uses may rely on performing our contract with you, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, consent, or compliance with legal obligations.

4. Service providers and international processing

We share information only as needed with providers that help operate CompanySweeper, including cloud hosting and storage, authentication and email delivery, AI model and information-retrieval services, error and security services, and payment processing.

Research questions and the context needed to answer them may be sent to AI and retrieval providers. Do not submit confidential information, inside information, special-category personal data, or personal data you are not authorized to use. Providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their contracts and applicable safeguards.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, in connection with a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising.

5. Cookies and local storage

CompanySweeper uses essential cookies or similar storage for authentication, security, and session continuity. The public site stores random visitor and session identifiers locally to measure page reach and CTA placement without recording full browsing sessions. Browser controls may clear or block this storage, though essential account features may then stop working.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain account and research information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account from Account settings after recent authentication. The deletion process removes saved personal workspace data and replaces certain operational records with deleted or pseudonymous values.

We may retain limited security, transaction, refund, dispute, tax, audit, and legal records for as long as reasonably necessary or required by law. Backups and provider systems may take additional time to cycle out deleted data.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

Use in-product account controls where available or email support@companysweeper.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

8. Security, children, and changes

We use access controls, encryption in transit, scoped storage, audit records, and other technical and organizational safeguards. No system is completely secure, so you should use a protected email account and avoid submitting confidential trading or personal information.

CompanySweeper is not directed to children, and users must be at least 18 years old. We may update this policy as the service, providers, or law changes. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice where required.
